Skidmarkz' Classes

We have recently completely revamped our flyball training, so we aren't currently offering group flyball classes. Instead, because we want dogs to have the best foundation training possible, we are scheduling some individual hour-long training sessions where we cover the basic skills needed for flyball for the bargain price of $10.00 per hour.

At the same time -- or even before starting any lessons -- you can come to a team practice (without your dog) so you can see that foundation training in action and get a feel for how we train and the fun stuff you'd get to do! This also gives us a chance to assess what skills you already have, without having you stuck in a class with someone who is not at your same level. Having instructed (and attended) at lot of group classes, we've found that while you might be ready to advance, someone else may hold up your progress. Conversely, if you need extra time on a certain skill, you do not want to have to move ahead before you're ready.

Some of these foundation skills include strong, fast, fun, happy recalls to you; working on toy drive; an introduction to clicker training; working on any
problem behaviors you already know your dog has (e.g., reactivity when working with/around other dogs).

We want to make things as positive and successful for each dog as we can, so this is what we've come up with for training new dogs and new people! Contact Jayne at mcjayne@yahoo.com with additional questions or to set up your private training session.

Members of other local clubs who are still in training are welcome to reserve a private training spot for a different perspective, extra work for their dogs around different distractions, and extra mat/practice time. We use only positive training methods.

While the classes are taught by Skidmarkz team members, we encourage class attendees to check out all the local flyball clubs to discover which team best fits with their personal goals and personalities. Contact information for all clubs is provided upon request.
